Disturbance. A woman was punched by another woman over a dispute about a pair of shoes. Neither party would provide statements or wanted to press criminal charges.

Suspicious activity. An officer saw a man walking in the 1500 block of Granada Avenue carrying a large television at 12.45 a.m. The man said he was carrying the TV home from his grandmother’s. The grandmother and an uncle were contacted and both had no knowledge of the TV. The man was taken home, where his mother also knew nothing about the TV. He was released to his mother and the TV was held in the police property room awaiting proof of ownership.

Parking complaint. A vehicle parked on the 600 block of Grafton Avenue was measured at 29 inches from the curb. A citation was issued for not being within 12 inches of the curb.

Slander. The owner of a business contacted authorities about unflattering messages posted on the Internet about the company. The owner was advised that since there were no threats issued it was a civil matter and to contact their Internet provider to have the comments removed.

Suspicious activity. An officer spoke with a woman at Wal-Mart, 10240 Hudson Rd., after she spent 2½ hours in the store filling up her cart with clothing, concealing merchandise and removing items from their packaging. She ended up buying a few snacks and didn’t steal anything but acknowledged that her actions were suspicious.

Items are selected from police reports and are not intended to provide a comprehensive picture of crime in a neighborhood or community.
