Suspicious activity. Several unfamiliar vehicles were reported parked in a cul-de-sac in the 13000 block of 47th Street. They were gone by the time a deputy arrived. The complainant was concerned because of past drug activity in the cul-de-sac. The complainant requested random patrols to monitor the area.

COTTAGE GROVE

NOV. 26

Trail complaint. The Sheriff's Office received a call about brush on the hiking/cross country skiing trail at Ravine Regional Park, 9940 E. Point Douglas Road A deputy checked on the report and found a park employee clearing the trail with a wood chipper.

Animal concern. A deer injured in a collision with a vehicle was put down by a deputy in a ditch on Dellwood Road near Jamaca Avenue.

Suspicious activity. A deputy found two men sleeping in a running car on 26th Street west of Inwood Avenue at 7:30 a.m. The men said they were waiting to meet someone so they could go ­shopping on Black Friday.

Concern for welfare. A juvenile was reported riding a bike on a pond in the 800 block of Wedgewood Road.

OAKDALE

NOV. 27

Parking complaint. Police responded to a report of a vehicle parked in a driveway blocking another vehicle in the 6100 block of 7th Street. After a deputy located two cans of compressed air nearby, the confused and disoriented driver of the blocking vehicle admitted to "huffing." His license had been canceled, too. Information was forwarded to the city attorney for charges of driving after cancellation and careless driving.

Suspicious activity. A car was reported driving back and forth in the 2100 block of Hale Avenue. The driver told an officer he was trying to find an address. The address was found.

Unsafe/hazardous conditions. An officer checked on a group of kids skating on a pond in the 600 block of Heron Court. The parents had checked and found the ice to be 8 inches thick where they were skating.

WEST LAKELAND TOWNSHIP

NOV. 27

Juvenile mischief. A group of juveniles were reported to be ringing doorbells and tampering with vehicles in the 2000 block of Oriole Avenue. A deputy made contact with the juveniles who admitted to playing ding dong ditch but denied tampering with vehicles. The deputy told them he admired their ambition to try to stay warm with physical activity on a cold evening, but advised there were better options than harassing local residents.

WOODBURY

NOV. 25

Open car door. A newspaper delivery man reported the back door of a vehicle in the 2400 block of Queens Drive was open at 3:20 a.m. He told police there was no answer at the door but the television was on. The vehicle owner was contacted and told police he probably just forgot to close the door.

NOV. 26

Suspicious situation. An officer made contact with a man who appeared to be passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle in a parking lot in the 8500 block of Central Park Place. The man told the officer he was fine, he was just waiting for his car to warm up and had his head down while sending texts.
