A 16-year-old boy was accidentally shot in a St. Paul home Monday evening by a 15-year-old friend who was showing him a small caliber rifle, police said.
The shooting occurred shortly before 7 p.m. in the 900 block of West Nebraska Avenue. The boy was shot in the abdomen and was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital by the 15-year-old's mother, who was home at the time, police said. He was later transferred to Regions Hospital, where he was in surgery Monday night. Police, who are investigating the shooting, said the injury appears to be nonlife threatening.
