A Minnesota Department of Transportation employee was struck by a car while cleaning debris on Interstate 94 at 42nd Avenue N. in Minneapolis on Sunday night, the State Patrol said.
The MnDOT worker, who was not identified, was taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale with serious injuries, the patrol said.
The car's driver was arrested for driving without a license or insurance, giving false information to police, careless driving and for having an open bottle in his vehicle.
The accident occurred about 7:35 p.m., the patrol's website states.
