JULY 31

Injury at the fair. A juvenile was injured on the Tilt-A-Whirl at the Washington County Fair. The ride was reportedly not locked in place and rolled when the girl was on it. She was bruised but all right.

DENMARK TOWNSHIP

JULY 29

Public assist. Police received a call about two men and a woman on ATVs in the area of 70th Street and Manning Avenue, pointing rifles at something the caller couldn't identify. A deputy contacted the parties on ATVs, who explained they were hunting striped gophers on their grandfather's land.

JULY 24

Bicyclist down. Police responded to a report of a bicyclist down in the area of 75th Street and Jamaca Avenue. The cyclist told police she blacked out while she was riding and the next thing she knew she was on the ground. She was feeling dazed and had some lacerations from her fall. An ambulance came and took her to the hospital.

JULY 25

Animal complaint. Someone in the 1600 block of Elmcrest Avenue reported a raccoon was entering their barn at night and stealing cat food. The caller was advised to call the DNR for options on handling the problem.

JULY 27

Solicitor complaint. Police issued a citation to a woman asking for donations in the 6000 block of 147th Street. She said the organization she was working for, Graceful Hands, was a nonprofit, but deputies checked and found out it was a scam.

LAKE ELMO

JULY 24

Suspicious activity. Three people reportedly set off an alarm in an attempt to steal a car in the 500 block of Cimarron. When police investigated, they discovered the three were friends of the complainant trying to park next to the vehicle in question.

MAHTOMEDI

JULY 25

Suspicious vehicle. A silver van in the 7000 block of Wildwood Road was reported wrapped in plastic wrap. Police contacted the owner, who explained it was a prank.

OAKDALE

JULY 23

Disturbance. An officer responded to a report of a woman yelling in the street and causing a disturbance in the 6400 block of Upper 56th Street. The woman told police she was attempting to retrieve her children, who were outside playing. She was advised of the complaint and not to yell in the street.

JULY 24

Theft by swindle or trick. A woman called police after seeing a Sawzall she had lent to a man who claimed to be a neighbor in Twin Cities Pawn, 1021 Geneva Av. Someone from the store said the man had also attempted to pawn an air compressor. The Sawzall was collected as evidence.

JULY 26

Animal complaint. An officer checked on a report of a resident in the 4800 block of Grenwich Trail feeding wildlife. Contact was made with the resident, who said she feeds only a duck with an injured leg. She was advised to cease feeding any of the wildlife.

WOODBURY

JULY 23

Suspicious activity. Police checked on a report of a man standing by some tennis courts in the area of Saddlebrook Lane and Pinehurst Road. Police made contact with the man, who told them he owns a paving company doing work nearby and was checking up on his workers from a distance.
