STILLWATER

JUNE 28

Suspicious activity. Police chased down and stopped a boat fleeing from them on the St. Croix River near the Mallalieu Dam. The operator was arrested for BWI and fleeing police.

WOODBURY

JUNE 28

Curfew violation. While on routine patrol an officer came across two juveniles — one riding a scooter in the traffic lane, the other on a bike on the bike path — at 1:45 a.m. in the area of Woodbury Drive and Valley Creek Road. Upon contact, both were disrespectful and did not want to provide information to the officer. Both were cited for violating curfew.

JUNE 29

Possible fraud. Employees at Walgreens, 1615 Queen Drive, reported observing a red SUV-type of vehicle pull into their lot and steal receipts out of their garbage can. They were concerned the suspects will then steal merchandise on the receipt and fraudulently return it. They had no confirmed instances of theft/return, but another metro area Walgreens has.

JULY 1

Accident. A man on a riding lawn mower in the 4900 block of Woodlane Drive accidentally stepped on the gas instead of the brake and ran into a car driving by his home. The man was treated by paramedics for some light bleeding on his head and arm.

JULY 2

Handicapped parking violation. An officer observed a vehicle parked in a handicapped parking stall at Wal-Mart, 10240 Hudson Road, without a handicapped placard. The passenger in the vehicle told the officer the driver ran into the store to use the restroom. Twenty-five minutes later she came out with two bags of merchandise. She said while she was aware it was illegal to park in a handicapped spot, she was “not paying attention” when she did it.

Items are selected from reports made to police departments and are not intended to provide a comprehensive picture of crime.
