Suspicious activity. A resident in the 20 block of Peninsula Road reported someone on a boat on White Bear Lake shining a light on her and her neighbor's property at 4 a.m.

FOREST LAKE

JUNE 15

BUI arrest. A man riding with a large white dog on a jet ski on Forest Lake was stopped by police. The man did not appear to police to be in control of his watercraft. When they talked to him he showed signs of intoxication and registered a .21 on a preliminary breath test. Police arrested him for BUI, and because it was his third violation in 10 years he had to forfeit his jet ski.

JUNE 18

Suspicious activity. Police received a complaint about juveniles riding a dirt bike and four-wheeler through the property of Hedberg Landscape Supplies & Nursery, 8400 60th St. The tire tracks of the vehicles led to a shed on a nearby property. Police spoke to a man there who said he would talk to his son.

LAKELAND

JUNE 19

Suspicious activity. A man was reported trying to get into a black vehicle in the 300 block of Saint Croix Trail. Police contacted the man who was in the vehicle at the time. He told them he had locked his keys in the car before going rollerblading.

MAHTOMEDI

JUNE 21

Bicycle violation. Police observed a bicyclist go through the intersection at Lincolntown Road and Kilbernie Way without stopping. In the process, he cut off a vehicle, forcing the driver to slam on the brakes. The cyclist told police he mistimed the intersection and thought he'd be better off going through. He was cited for failing to obey traffic laws.

OAKDALE

JUNE 16

Lost property. A man called police because he believed he lost the gun clip to his pistol somewhere in Oakdale. Police notified Carmike Cinemas movie theater, 1188 Helmo Av., because the man said he had been to a movie there earlier in the day. The gun clip wasn't found.

JUNE 18

Animal complaint. A resident in the 100 block of Gershwin Av. reported at least 25 squirrels in his back yard. An officer was dispatched and told the resident he should monitor the situation for any changes in the squirrels' behavior. He also advised him to contact a pest control company if he wanted them removed.

STILLWATER TOWNSHIP

JUNE 16

Disturbance. Police checked on a report of three men drinking alcohol and hitting golf balls into Little Carnelian Lake. Police found the men next to the lake with their golf bags out of their vehicle, but not hitting any balls. They agreed to put the golf gear back in the car.

WOODBURY

JUNE 16

Damage to property. A vehicle with loud exhaust was reportedly doing maneuvers in the soccer fields at Liberty Ridge Elementary School, 11395 Eagle View Blvd. An officer observed the tire tracks and destroyed grass. The vehicle was gone upon his arrival.

JUNE 21

Solicitor complaint. A man in the 8000 block of Drake Road reported that a solicitor started arguing with him when he declined to donate to the cause. Police located the solicitor, who had the proper nonprofit credentials, and he admitted to having the confrontation. He was advised he might want to re-evaluate his approach.
