MARCH 6

School bus assistance. An officer helped a school bus get turned around after it was caught at a railroad crossing in the area of 40th Street and McDonald Drive. The bus had stopped because the crossing arm was down, but there was no train in sight.

Alarm. A cleaning person accidentally set off an alarm at a home in the 4000 block of McDonald Drive Overlook.

DENMARK TOWNSHIP

MARCH 4

Dumping complaint. A large amount of computer items and other electronics were left on a property in the area of Point Douglas Drive and St. Croix Drive.

MARCH 6

Break-in. A storage facility was burglarized in the 12000 block of Margo Avenue.

Abandoned snowmobile. Police attempted to contact the registered owner of a snowmobile that had been left for two days in the area of 122nd Street and County Road 8. Although contact was never made with the owner, the snowmobile was moved.

Lake elmo

MARCH 7

Suspicious vehicle. A resident in the 700 block of Julep Avenue shined a flashlight on a vehicle that had been idling in the street for several minutes and it took off. The resident called police, who were unable to locate the vehicle in the area.

Noise complaint. Someone in the 1400 block of Quinlan Avenue complained that a neighbor was snowblowing too early in the morning.

MARCH 6

Passing on the shoulder. An officer observed a driver pass the car ahead of her, which was turning left, on the shoulder of Hilton Trail at 66th Street. The officer told the driver he was surprised she did that in front of a police car. She explained she didn't see him and usually doesn't do it there, but that the woman in front of her was "driving so slow."

OAKDALE

MARCH 2

Theft. An employee at the Holiday Stationstore, 3344 Hadley Av., recognized a man pumping gas as someone who had previously driven off without paying. She shut off the pump and the man fled after pumping about $10 worth of gas into his vehicle.

MARCH 5

Neighbor dispute. Police received a call from a woman in the 7600 block of Stillwater Way complaining that her neighbor blows snow into her yard and she is concerned her dog will climb the snow and leave the yard. She only wanted the information documented.

WEST LAKELAND TOWNSHIP

MARCH 3

Animal concern. A woman in the 15000 block of Manning Trail reported a dead turkey on her porch. She told police the bird had been wandering on her property recently. She agreed to dispose of the bird. No foul play was suspected in the turkey's death.

Woodbury

MARCH 2

Road rage. A man reportedly drove on the shoulder to pass the vehicle of a driver he said had cut him off and then slammed on its brakes on Interstate 494. The other driver also reported that the man displayed a knife to her while both were at a stoplight. The man confronted the driver in a nearby parking lot, opening her driver's-side door but leaving after hearing her on the phone with a police dispatcher. Police contacted the man and advised him his actions bordered on disorderly conduct.
