Concert to benefit those affected by Hugo tornado

Last update: May 28, 2008 - 5:35 PM

Hugo's neighbors to the north in Forest Lake are turning a school concert into a fundraiser for those affected by Sunday's damaging tornado.

Proceeds from Wednesday's "POPS! on the Green" concert will be donated to Hugo relief funds, the Forest Lake School District announced today.

The outdoor concert begins at 7 p.m. at the high school, 6101 N Scandia Trail. Admission is $5, and that includes an ice cream dessert.

The school's Agriculture Department will also be on hand Wednesday night to sell plants from its nursery, with proceeds going to relief for Hugo tornado victims.

Part of Hugo is covered by the Forest Lake School District. The area hardest hit in Hugo by the tornado is in the White Bear Lake School District.
