A Roseville police officer is at home today recovering from injuries suffered in collision Tuesday night, said Capt. Rick Mathwig.
The officer was responding to a medical emergency around 9 p.m. when he was hit while passing through the intersection of County Road B and Snelling Avenue, Mathwig said.
Preliminary indications show that the officer had his lights and sirens on at the time of the crash. It appears that the motorist who hit the officer ran a red light, Mathwig said.
That driver was treated and released at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. Mathwig said the officer will see an orthopedic specialist later this week to determine the extent of his injuries.
The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the crash.
