A Halloween attraction last year in Cottage Grove.
Frights: A "professional quality" haunted house so scary that kids under 14 are warned not to go. This year's theme is the old Ramsey County Poor Farm, the scene of some strange and terrifying events. The manager promises "twice the scare at half the price" of other haunted houses. Proceeds go to the Ramsey County Sheriff's Foundation.
When: 7 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and Oct. 30-31. A "Low Scare" matinee will be offered for kids under 14 from noon to 4 p.m. next Sunday.
Where: Ramsey County Fairgrounds, White Bear and Frost Avenues, Maplewood.
Cost: $10 per person. "Low Scare" event is $5 per person for all ages.

Frights: More treat than trick - and tailored for families with young children- the annual ZooBoo event promises fairy tales and fun without the shrieks or scares of most Halloween festivals. More than 200 live costumed characters entertain the kids. It's also Como Zoo's biggest fundraiser.
Where: Como Park Zoo and Conservatory, 1225 Estabrook Drive, St. Paul.
When: 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday and Friday through next Sunday.
Cost: $6 per person. Advance tickets can be purchased online at comofriends.org, the Midway Cub Foods store or Como's Garden Safari gift shop. Tickets also can be purchased at the gate for $7 per person.

Frights: Looking for an outdoor maze of ghouls and zombies? Deadview delivers on what its name promises. The Cottage Grove nonprofit that runs the "cemetery" donates a portion of admissions to the Friends in Need food shelf.
When: 7 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 29-31.
Where: 8839 S. 96th St., Cottage Grove.
Cost: $7 per person, cash only.
Information: The "cemetery" is outside and wheelchair accessible. Kids 12 and under must be with an adult.
Frights: Psychics and ghost hunters say the Mounds Theatre, on St. Paul's East Side, is really haunted. See for yourself on a one-hour or a three-hour tour as experienced paranormal investigators guide you through the darkened 1920s-era theater. Cameras, video recorders and flashlights are welcome.
When: One-hour tours are available on the hour from 6-10 p.m. Sunday; 7-11 p.m. Oct. 26-27; and 6-10 p.m. Oct. 28. Three-hour tours are available at 8 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Oct. 29-30.

Cost: $20/person for one-hour tours and $40/person for three-hour tours.
