Changes at St. Paul's monastery

Construction begins this month on a new, smaller home for the sisters and the retreat center on the grounds of St. Paul's Monastery in Maplewood. The retreat center will remain open during this time, as will the monastery's Mapletree Child Care Center.

This month Excavation begins on new monastery.

September New roads through the property are constructed.

Spring 2009 New monastery with retreat center completed.

Spring/summer 2009 Common Bond expected to start construction of 50 units of affordable housing for families and 40 units for seniors.

2010 Monastery expected to be turned into headquarters for Tubman Family Alliance, which offers services and shelters to families fleeing domestic violence.
