Boat accident. Police caught a suspect fleeing from a boat accident on the St. Croix River near the Bayport Marina. The man was arrested for BWI and fleeing the police.
JULY 31
Motorcycle down. A man on a motorcycle swerved to avoid a car that had stopped in front of him in the area of Manning Avenue and Stillwater Boulevard but ended up hitting it. He was taken to Lakeview Hospital.
JULY 29
Dine and dash. A man who had left The Point Restaurant, 12378 Point Douglas Dr., without paying for his meal was found in the parking lot and cited for theft.
JULY 30
Suspicious situation. Police contacted a man who reportedly had knocked on the door of a home in the 5000 block of Fenson Court and asked the resident if they wanted their car washed. Police determined he was selling soap but had no permit to peddle in Hugo and advised him to cease.

Unruly person. Police were called to the 200 block of Cimarron to intervene in an argument between a father and son. The situation was calmed and the father agreed to stay somewhere else.
AUG. 1
Park violation. A man was cited for not having a valid driver's license and given a warning for driving 40 mph in a 25 mph zone in the Lake Elmo Park Reserve, 1515 Keats Ave.
AUG. 4
Violation of order for protection. An officer stopped a vehicle for expired license plate tabs in the area of Hudson Boulevard and Lake Elmo Avenue and arrested the passenger for violation of an order for protection.
AUG. 1
Drug activity. Two men were reported smoking marijuana on the beach of Chataugua Park, 75 1/2 Quail St. The men told police they were smoking cigarettes, which they were advised violated an ordinance.
AUG. 3
Theft. A six-gallon gas can was taken from a pontoon boat on a trailer in the 18000 block of Layton Avenue.
AUG. 3
Water hazard. While on patrol on the St. Croix River an officer saw a large log floating in the middle of the river and towed it to shore.
JULY 28
Disobey stop sign. A driver was cited for driving through a stop sign at Chatham Road and Paddington Road.
JULY 27
Slumper. A woman slumped over her steering wheel on Hudson Road west of Manning Avenue was contacted by police. She explained she wasn't feeling well and stopped to rest. No assistance was needed.
JULY 28
Shoplifter. Police were unable to find a juvenile who had run off after being caught stealing two candy bars at Wal-Mart, 10240 Hudson Rd.
AUG. 2
Coyote concern. Police received a call about the number of coyotes in the Ojibway Park area. The complainant was advised to check the DNR website for more information.
AUG. 2
Found narcotics. A man found a package labeled "Cocaine" in a ditch in the 10000 block of Valley Creek Road. An officer explained the bag was a narco test pouch police use to test items for narcotics.
