County park violation. An officer issued a citation for a vehicle parked at the St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park without a permit. There was a Rum River Central Regional Park sticker on the vehicle which the officer found out later was also valid at St. Croix Bluffs. The citation was canceled.
Locked out of residence. Police received a call from someone who was accidentally locked out of a home while house-sitting in the area of Stillwater Road and Hallam Avenue. The complainant crawled through an open window to gain access to the home.
Medical call. An officer was dispatched to the 2200 block of Grange Avenue on a report of a female giving birth to a baby. The officer held the newborn girl and provided her with oxygen until the Oakdale Fire Department transported the mother and baby to St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul.
Found canoe. A canoe was found in a weedy area of Big Marine Lake in the 12000 block of 196th Street. Police contacted the owner of the canoe, who speculated that it had been swept away in a storm.
Junk pontoon. A slowly sinking pontoon boat was reported on the west side of Big Marine Lake. It wasn't clear who owned the boat, but officers finally contacted someone who agreed to take care of the matter.
Disobeying a semaphore. An officer observed a vehicle make an illegal turn on a red light in the area of Stillwater Road and Hwy. 36. He cited the driver for the infraction.
Theft from a motor vehicle. The driver's side window was smashed and a purse was taken from a vehicle parked at the Lucy Bell Winton Athletic Fields, 15601 Hudson Road.
Motorcycle racing. Someone in the area of Oakgreen Avenue and 30th Street reported motorcycles racing and going through a stop sign. An officer determined that a motorcycle rally was passing through the area.
Suspicious activity. The radio was missing from a blue collectible convertible in the 300 block of Sargent Road. The steering column of the vehicle also appeared to be damaged.
Suspicious activity. A man was reported to police for taking pictures from his vehicle in the parking lot of Shane Co., 8404 Tamarack Village, for the second time in a week. Police were able to contact the man, who admitted taking photos but was unable to explain exactly what he was taking photos of. When asked to show the pictures in his camera he pushed a few buttons and said no pictures were in the camera. No charges were filed.
Dine and dash. Five people left the Perkins restaurant at 7325 Currell Blvd. without paying their bill. The suspects were contacted by police as they were leaving a movie theater and all returned to the restaurant to pay the bill.
Careless driving complaint. Police received a report of a woman drinking beer while driving in the area of Valley Creek Road and Bielenberg Drive. Police contacted the woman, who said she was consuming an energy drink and showed the officer the can.
