Stranded boater. A boater who ran out of gas on the St. Croix River south of Windmill Marina said his boat was being damaged by rocks and beams from a dock system. An officer towed the boat to Windmill Marina.
JULY 6
Passing on the right. A driver was cited for passing on the right on Manning Avenue at Valley Creek Road. The driver told the officer he was momentarily distracted and thought his only option was to pass on the shoulder.
JULY 7
Cracked windshield. The driver of a vehicle at Lake Elmo Park Reserve, 1515 Keats Av., was giving a written warning for a cracked windshield and a nonworking brake light.
JULY 5
Vehicle break-in. A pair of small green binoculars was stolen from a vehicle in the 1000 block of Queens Avenue.
JULY 4
Damage to mailboxes. Multiple mailboxes were discovered damaged in the area of Griffin and Hallam avenues.
JULY 6
Theft report. A 2002 Acura was stolen from a garage in the 900 block of Sprucewood Court. The vehicle was recovered in White Bear Lake.
JULY 1
Bear sighting. A bear was reported near Manning Avenue and 142nd Street. The call was transferred to the Department of Natural Resources.
JULY 2
Theft. A man was cited for theft after he put a tool in his pocket and sunglasses on his head and left Mills Fleet Farm, 5635 Hadley Av., without paying for the items.
JULY 3
Animal complaint. Police checked on a report of chickens living in a garage in the 4800 block of Hamlet Way. Police made contact with the homeowner who admitted owning the chickens. He was given two weeks to get rid of them.
JULY 4
Found property. Someone turned in $6 they found on the ground at Walton Park, 1584 Hadley Av.
JULY 5
Criminal damage to property. A stolen car was driven into a garage door at the Mormon Temple, 2150 Hadley Av. The vehicle was taken from a garage in the 4800 block of Heather Ridge Road.
JULY 8
Vehicle lock out. An officer helped someone who had locked their keys in their vehicle at the Scandia Community Center, 14727 209th St.
JULY 5
Water surface use violation. A slalom course for waterskiing was observed on Big Carnelian Lake. A permit is required to put one on the lake.
JUNE 30
Theft. A man was caught leaving Walmart, 10240 Hudson Rd., with merchandise he didn't pay for. He told police he was trying to rent a Red Box movie outside the store and not stealing. He was given a citation for theft.
JULY 6
Unwanted customer. Police responded to a report of a man upset about not having a key for a P.O. box at the U.S. Post Office, 7595 Currell Blvd. The man calmed down in the officer's presence and the situation was resolved.
JULY 7
Vehicle/tree accident. A woman swerved off the road to avoid hitting a beverage cooler and hit a tree in the area of Woodland Drive and Valley Creek Road. The vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage and was towed.
