Driver killed, toddler son injured in SUV rollover

A sport-utility vehicle rolled over in Mounds View, killing the driver and sending his toddler son to the hospital, authorities said Monday.
The crash occurred about 8:15 p.m. Sunday on westbound Hwy. 10 between Interstate 35W and Airport Road, according to the State Patrol.
Killed was Jacob A. Rhode, 29, of Big Lake, Minn., the patrol said. His 3-year-old son, Owen, was taken to Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids for injuries that the patrol characterized as not life-threatening.
The SUV veered out of control, over-corrected and rolled several times before landing in a ditch, the patrol said.
Rhode and his son were both wearing proper restraint devices, the patrol added.
