Head-on crash kills Stillwater couple near Prescott

A head-on crash on a northwestern Wisconsin highway has killed a Stillwater couple, authorities said.
The collision occurred about 4:30 p.m. Sunday on Hwy. 35 near Hwy. QQ, about 6 miles east of Prescott, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.
Driver Richard E. Skare, 72, and passenger Irene R. Skare, 71, were in a car heading north on Hwy. 35 and died after colliding with a southbound van, the patrol said. Authorities have yet to detail circumstances of the crash.
The van's driver, Randy J. Tape, 51, of Prescott, and his passenger, Tammy A. Decker, 53, of Hastings, were taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul. They were being treated for non-life threatening injuries, the patrol said.
