A driver led police on a pair of late-night pursuits through Minneapolis and many south-metro cities, one on the wrong side of a freeway and the other topping 100 miles per hour, before being arrested in Eagan.

The events unfolded starting about 11:30 p.m. Thursday, according to police, when a Minneapolis officer saw a car run a red light at 42nd Street and Park Avenue S. When the officer attempted to pull over the car, the driver took off and headed south on Interstate 35W into Richfield. From there, the chase continued into Bloomington and Edina, where the driver was heading south on northbound Hwy. 100.

Eventually, after using "stop sticks" to slow the vehicle, Eagan police maneuvered the car into a ditch at I-35E and Lone Oak Road.

The driver, a 48-year-old Minneapolis man, was arrested.
