Two men are being sought after an attempted bank robbery in Roseville during which a bank employee was pistol-whipped and his or her vehicle was stolen, FBI Special Agent Paul McCabe said.

The incident occurred about 7:25 a.m. Thursday at the Teacher Federal Credit Union, 2150 Lexington Ave. N.

The suspects, hiding near the bank parking lot, ordered the employee out of the vehicle when the employee arrived to open the facility. One suspect, pointing a black pistol, went inside with the employee while the second man waited in the vehicle.

After learning the employee had no authorization to open the vault, the angry gunman struck the victim more than once in the head and left without money. The suspects then fled in the victim's vehicle, eventually abandoning it a short time later in the 900 block of Parker Avenue in Roseville.

One suspect was described as black, 25-35 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a heavy build. He wore a black fleece hooded sweatshirt, white T-shirt, dark pants, black mesh mask and black gloves. The second suspect, also black, was taller and thinner, wearing black clothing and a black mask.

The victim sustained a head injury that was not life-threatening, McCabe said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 612-376-3200.
