A Twin Cities driver crossed into oncoming traffic on a two-lane highway in western Wisconsin, setting off a chain-reaction crash that left him dead, authorities said Friday.

The crash happened shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday on Hwy. 64, just east of New Richmond and north of Cylon, according to the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office.

Dead at the scene was Thomas V. Huju, 22, of Minneapolis, the Sheriff's Office said. Three people in the other vehicles were slightly hurt.

According to the Sheriff's Office: Huju was driving his car west on Hwy. 64 and hit a pickup coming from the other direction. Huju's car, while still in the eastbound lane, was then hit by an SUV and sent into the ditch.
