Two teens found dead Tuesday evening on a bluff in a Lakeland park died by homicide and suicide, according to a preliminary ruling from the Ramsey County medical examiner's office.

The bodies of Jacob Z. Campbell, 14, of Lakeland and Lisa M. Grijalva, 15, of Oak Park Heights, were found by a hiker in a clearing above Humphries Park.

Grijalva was a victim of homicide, and Campbell was a victim of suicide, said Don Gorrie, chief medical investigator. Further tests are being done.

Both teens -- ninth-graders at Oak-Land Junior High School in Lake Elmo -- died of gunshot wounds. A shotgun was found at the scene.

Services for Campbell will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Woodbury Lutheran Church in Woodbury. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Lakeland. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson. Funeral arrangements for Grijalva were pending.

According to information posted on a memorial Facebook page, "R.I.P. Lisa Grijalva & Jacob Campbell," plans are in the works to sell wristbands in memory of the teens. The bands would have a suicide prevention hot line number.
