The usual backup on eastbound 94 entering the Lowry Hill Tunnel is in place. Somewhere in that line is a fender bender.

Traffic on eastbound 394 also is jamming up approaching the downtown exits.

Things have filled in on Hwy. 100 in Edina. Look for slow traffic in the vicinity of 50th Street where we have a wreck on the southbound side.  That has traffic crammed from 394 down to the Crosstown.

At long last, the wreck on eastbound 94 at 95th Avenue is about gone. Delays still remain from Brockton Lane.

Look for a new crash on westbound 94 at Hwy. 280.

The Stillwater Lift Bridge is broken, but it is not affecting vehicular traffic. River traffic is unable to get through.

A cable frayed and snapped as the bridge was being lowered just after 8 p.m. Sunday. MnDOT has inspection and repair crews on the scene.

It could take until noon or longer to fix the problem, said MnDOT spokesman Kent Barnard.

“These things can take a while," he said.  Crews also will be checking to be sure there was no other damage.

The bridge connects downtown Stillwater  with western Wisconsin.

7:40 a.m. update: Crowding growing on Crosstown, 94, 494

As the peak of the rush hour appraoches, look for crowding on several routes.

On 494, it's 15 minutes in each direction between Hwy. 169 and Cedar Avenue. Look for a crash on westbound 494 on the right shoulder at 24th Avenue.

It's still 20 to 25 minutes from Hwy. 101 to 494/94 on eastbound 94 through Rogers and Maple Grove. A crash on the left shoulder at Maple Grove Pkwy. is partly to blame.

The Crosstown in both directions is about 15 minutes from Cedar Avenue over to Hwy. 169. No crashes, just lots of people on the roads.

Look for things to shake loose on westbound 494 at Hardman Avenue. The crash there has been cleared.

Northbound 35 is tight from County 46 up to Crystal Lake Road through Lakeville and Burnsville.

7:25 a.m. update: Inching along on 94 through Maple Grove

The traffic stop on eastbound 94 at County Road 30 is creating a gwaker slowdown that has traffic stacked up all the way to near Hwy. 101.  Add a stall to the mix and you have a trip that is taking up to 25 minutes from Rogers to the 494/94 split.

In the southeast metro, look for a traffic jam on westbound 494 over the Wacouta Bridge. There is a crash at 5th Avenue taking out the left lane. Ahead, things slow from Cedar Avenue over to Hwy. 100.

Our other tough spots include:

Northbound 35 from County Road 46 up to Crystal Lake Road in Lakeville and Burnsville: 7 minutes.

Southbound 35E from 694 to 94: 10 minutes

Southbound 35W from 95th Avenue to Hwy. 280: 18 to 22 minutes
