Minneapolis police on Sunday arrested the second of two suspects in the robbery of a 90-year-old woman as she walked home from a grocery store in south Minneapolis, officials said.

The other suspect was arrested last week.

Officials said the 43-year-old woman, who has yet to be charged, was taken into custody by Minneapolis police just before 8 p.m. on Sunday. The woman is expected to be charged with aggravated robbery.

Her alleged accomplice, identified as Morgan Elizabeth Bierman, 28, was arrested on a similar charge around midday on Friday, authorities said.

The two women are accused of confronting the elderly victim as she walked home on the morning of Aug. 5, carrying grocery bags, Third Precinct inspector Michael Sullivan told reporters on Monday. The incident occurred on the 3100 block of East 51st Street.

The suspects "implied a gun" during the encounter, Sullivan said, and threatened to shoot her if she didn't surrender her purse, though no weapon was recovered. After she complied, police said, they turned and fled.

"Even though she wasn't hurt ... I know she was scared to death," Sullivan said.

In the weeks following the incident, Sullivan said that investigators received several tips from callers after posting still images of the suspects from surveillance footage on social media.
