The State Patrol has two people in custody in connection with a gun-pointing incident that led to a pursuit on Hwy. 169 in Edina.
Troopers surrounded a vehicle on southbound Hwy. 169 between Excelsior Blvd. and Bren Road about 7:40 a.m. after following the vehicle for a short time, the Minnesota Department of Transportation said.
According to sources, police got a call about an erratic driver heading north on Hwy. 169 on the Bloomington Ferry Bridge. The driver at one time then turned southbound and that is where police caught up to the driver.
The word from MnDOT is that when the call about the vehicle came in, police ran the plates and found that there was a warrant for one of the occupants. That is when the pursuit began.
One lane of traffic is now open. Police had both southbound lanes shut down for about 10 minutes while they made the arrests.
