Parking Panda, the popular digital and mobile parking reservation system, this week unveiled its on-site scanning program in five U.S. cities, including San Francisco, Boston, Washington D.C., Baltimore and Minneapolis.

Locally, the new PandaScan station is available in the LaSalle Plaza parking ramp.

PandaScan allows drivers with a reservation and a Smartphone to scan a QR code at at reader and gain entrance to or get out of a ramp bypassing the need to see an attendant. PandaScan is currently available at the AT &T Oracle Ramp at 900 2nd Avenue S.

Parking Panda has been in the Twin Cities since 2014. The service allows drivers to find and book parking at 15 spots in Minneapolis and six in St. Paul. Drivers can search for daily parking, event parking or monthly parking, and check rates and availability on the company's web site.

Available in more than 40 cities in the United States, company spokesman Bryan Lozano says Panda Parking has partnerships with hundreds of ramps and venues to offer cheaper parking than the normal drive-up rate.
