The first day of the new configuration on Hwy. 100 through St. Louis Park served up some delays, but nothing too major. The jury is still out on how bad the traffic will be.

With many folks on spring break this week, traffic levels were lighter on that stretch of highway between 394 and Excelsior Blvd. as they were across the metro.

Traffic did jam up between 7:30 and 8:15 in both directions of Hwy. 100 and added some travel time to the drive. But things did loosen up and traffic is flowing fine at this hour.

There were hardly any crashes this morning and just some early morning stalls that created a few anxious moments.

We will see how things play out this week as the new detour on 5th Street near the Vikings' stadium goes into effect. The street is closed from 11th Avenue to Park Avenue.

Utility work will bring a closure to southbound Hennepin Avenue at 1st Street in downtown Minneapolis. That might shift some traffic over to 3rd Avenue.
