Friday's morning rush hour was smooth in most parts of the metro, but there were a few hiccups.

Minneapolis police shut down a few lanes on 10th Street in downtown as they investigate a shooting near the 10th Street Ramp. The road is still open but a squeeze as you pass through the area.

A crash on eastbound I-94 at Hennepin Avenue crammed traffic back to 7th Street between 8 and 8:30 a.m. That crash has cleared and traffic is flowing smoothly at this hour.

No crashes on northbound 35W, but tight traffic made the drive from the Crosstown to downtown a bit longer than usual. The heavy crush between 7:30 and 8 a.m. had trip times as high as 15 minutes.

Commuters on eastbound 394 ran into a snag around 6 a.m. and again around 7:30 a.m. Those two crashes had traffic slow between General Mills Blvd. and Hwy. 100.

A reminder that Hwy. 100 in both directions closes at 10 p.m. between I-394 and the Crosstown. The road will reopen at 5 a.m. Monday. When it does, there will be only two lanes open in both directions, so plan on delays through St. Louis Park and Golden Valley.
