Twin Cities commuters ran into lane-blocking crashes and stalls that plugged up traffic in downtown Minneapolis, south Minneapolis and the Midway.

The action started just after 7 a.m. when a crash and a lost bumper blocked lanes on eastbound I-94 at Cedar Avenue. Traffic backed up to the Lowry Hill Tunnel. A second crash at 1st Avenue kept things locked up for nearly an hour. Traffic was at a standstill.

Westbound drivers were delayed due to a crash at Hwy. 280 during the mid-portion of the commute.

Lanes were blocked on I-694 in Little Canada where a vehicle rolled over at Edgerton Street around 6:45 a.m. Shortly after, a crash blocked two lanes on southbound 35W at 46th Street.

A handful of other crashes kept the State Patrol busy, including one that blocked the center lane on southbound Hwy. 100 at I-394.

Around 8 a.m., westbound 494 got into the action with a crash at Nicollet Avenue.

Drivers on northbound 35W had a relatively nice drive with only one crash reported around 8 a.m. at 50th Street. That didn't impact the flow too much with drive times a nice 25 minutes most of the morning from Burnsville to downtown Minneapolis.
