A few months back the Drive reported that Wanderu.com started posting bus schedules and fares for bus lines that serve the Twin Cities and 40 other cities in the Midwest.

Last week the ground transportation aggregator made it even easier to book inter-city bus travel by launching its iPhone mobile app. Those with iPads can also use the app to shop for tickets and find the lowest prices just like travelers seeking airline tickets and hotels do on sites such as Kayak.com and Expedia.com.

"Seventy-four percent of bus travelers are millennials, the same people who spend 70 percent of their time on mobile devices at peak hours," said Polina Raygorodskaya, founder and CEO of the ground transportation engine. "The biggest request of our users since the launch has been a Wanderu app, a personalized destination for all of their ground travel needs."

The website and app has schedules for 28 bus partners nationwide, including Greyhound, Megabus and Boltbus. Travelers can use Wandeu to book travel to more than 1,000 destinations in North America.

With the app, bus travelers can also search for specific amenities such as whether seats with extra leg room, free WiFi or in-seat plugs power outlets are available.

Wanderu also allows passengers to find walking or driving directions to or from bus stations.

Wanderu debuted in the Twin Cities in August. At that time, more than 500,000 users a month across the country were using the website to price compare and book trips, Raygorodskaya said.
