It was not an enjoyable commute for drivers who used I-35E in the north metro Thursday morning. Four separate crashes between Roselawn Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue clogged traffic for most of the rush, leading to dramatically increased travel times.

The latest in the left lane at Maryland Avenue has brake lights coming on at Wheelock Pkwy.

Earlier mishaps at Pennsylvania Avenue and at Roselawn had traffic bumper to bumper from I-694 all the way to downtown St. Paul.

A crash on westbound Crosstown Avenue suffered a tad with a crash around 7:30 a.m. at Cedar Avenue caused traffic to bunch up on both the Crosstown and Cedar for about 20 minutes. Both directions of the Crosstown remain busy, but no major delays between Cedar and Hwy. 100.

Elsewhere it was just the usual congestion and slow downs that commuter dealth with. A couple minor setbacks greeted eastbound 394 drivers between 7 and 8 a.m. That had traffic off the pace from General Mills Blvd. over to Hwy. 100.

On the road work front, look for the left lane closure on southbound 35W at 205th Street in Lakeville. MnDOT is doing guardrail repair. The ramp from southbound Hwy. 100 to Cedar Lake Road is also closed through Friday.
