Freezing precip falling at the heart of the rush hour is a recipe for a very slow commute, and that's exactly what we have. The number of spin outs and crashes has dropped in the past 30 minutes, but congestion has more than made up for that.

Look for a solid line of traffic on northbound I-35 from Elko New Market up to the Burnsville Split, a 20 minute drive. Ahead on either 35E or 35W, traffic doesn't move much faster. Word is I-35E in both directions is extremely icy in the area of Diffley Road. A new spin out put a vehicle in the ditch at Yankee Doodle Road.

Westbound 94 heading into downtown St. Paul is at a crawl from White Bear Avenue to Marion Street. Plan on 30 minutes from Hudson. Eastbound is moving a bit better now that a crash at Wabasha Street has been pushed out of the general purpose lanes.

Eastbound 94 from Rogers to Maple Grove is nearly 25 minutes while northbound Hwy. 169 is 17 minutes from Canterbury Road up to Crosstown.

Elsewhere, 694 through Oakdale is looking crowded between Hwy. 36 and 10th Street in both directions. Westbound 494 from Lake Drive to 35E is tight as well.
