The Minnesota Department of Transportation is warning motorists who use Hwy. 10 in Elk River to seek alternate routes Wednesday and Thursday as pavement repair will bring lane closures and traffic jams.
Eastbound Hwy. 10 will be down to one lane from Joplin Street to Upland Avenue from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday. Westbound will be a single lane from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday.
Motorists should plan additional time and prepare to stop when approaching the work zone, the transportation department said.
Additionally MnDOT recommends that travelers use I-94 as an alternate route to avoid delays.
Crews will be removing and replacing deteriorated sections of pavement over the course of the next two days.
