The Drive will keep you up to speed with the latest on Twin Cities commuting.

7:50 a.m. update: The slow slog continues

The southbound 35W drive is not getting any better even though crashes have cleared. The trip from the Forest Lake Split to downtown Minneapolis is at 46 minutes.

Look for heavy traffic on northbound 35W from the Crosstown to downtown Minneapolis and a 15-minute trip. A truck is stuck on a guardrail at the downtown exits.  Southbound struggles due to a crash in the curve near Franklin Avenue.

A new crash has traffic slowing on eastbound 694 at Labore Road. A stall and a dead deer have the right shoulder blocked.

Traffic lights on Hwy. 169 in Champlin are out, leading to massive backups in to the Anoka Mississippi River bridge.
