Commuters who use Hwy. 101 to cross the Minnesota River in Shakopee can return to their normal route. The highway reopened today, according to the Scott County Sheriff's Office.

The highway has been shut down since June 23 when water from the Minnesota River overflowed its banks and flooded the road.

The high water also forced MnDOT to shut down Hwy. 41 in Chaska, leaving Hwy. 169 or I-35W as the nearest crossings for drivers. Over the past two weeks, traffic jams were common on weekdays as the crush of motorists used those alternate routes. MnDOT even added a third lane on northbound Hwy. 169 to help accommodate the extra traffic.

Hwy. 41 in Chaska opened over the weekend. Now both southwest metro crossing are back to normal.

Scott County Road 9 in Jordan reopened Monday afternoon.
