Flood-related closures of Hwy. 41 and Hwy. 101 led to massive delays on northbound 35W and Hwy. 169 for yet another commute and those closures will likely be in place for the foreseeable future. Drive times remained high, just like the water. Hopefully with the July 4 holiday on Friday, traffic levels will thin out as the week rolls along.

Westbound 94 from Manning Avenue to downtown St. Paul ran slower than usual with a 20-minute drive common for most of the rush hour. At this hour, traffic has thinned out and the drive is closer to the normal 13-minute trip.

Happy news for southbound Hwy. 169 drivers. The construction from Bren Road to the Crosstown has ended and a lane is open. It's still closed south of Valley View Road to 494.

Look for a piece of metal blocking the right lane of westbound 494 at the 35W interchange. A MnDOT crew is on the scene retrieving it as we speak.

North metro drivers experienced few problems while 494 clogged up between 7:30 and 8:45 a.m. from the Fish Lake interchange down to 394.

Southbound 35E had three crashes between Larpenteur Avenue and Maryland Avenue, enough to keep traffic tight through the work zone. Things are still moving slow through the area at this hour.

A new road project on Hwy. 55 and Hwy. 149 kicked off today. That will bring single lane traffic until November, so you might want to explore alternate routes.

That's it for Monday. I'll be back Tuesday with more live traffic reports.
