Good morning, commuters!

Besides the continued closures of Hwy. 41 and Hwy. 101 over the Minnesota River in Chaska and Shakopee, the big news that will affect commuters is the arrival of President Obama for a two-day visit.

The president arrives at 12:25 p.m. and speaks at an invitation-only town hall about 2 p.m. at Minnehaha Park. Expect impromptu road closures between MSP Airport and the park when his motorcade makes its way through south Minneapolis.

A number of roads and parkways will be closed in the vicinity of Minnehaha Park starting at 8 a.m. today. Parking is already restricted on several streets.

Here is a list of closures from the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Department:

• Godfrey Parkway
• Minnehaha Parkway: 39th Ave. So. to roundabout at Godfrey Parkway
• Minnehaha Avenue: E 46th St. to roundabout at Godfrey Parkway
• Minnehaha Park Drive: to E 54th St.

No parking within Minnehaha Park, including all parking lots and metered parking spaces.

On the mainline at this hour, traffic is humming right along without issue.

I'll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
