The Drive will keep you up to speed with the latest on Twin Cities commuting.

6:55 a.m. update: Starting to get crowded

The wide open roads are quickly filling in, and as a result drive times are rising.

Traffic is building on westbound Hwy. 36 from Edgerton Street over to Snelling Avenue. It's 15 minutes from Edgerton over to 35W.

On eastbound 94, the problem between the Crow River and Rogers has been taken care of, but traffic still creeps along from County 37 to Hwy. 101. Plan on 18 minutes to reach the Fish Lake Interchange.  Also, southbound Hwy. 101 has slow downs from County 36 down to 94. Much of that is attributed to road work and the traffic lights in Rogers.

Commuters on northbound 35W can plan on a 20-minute drive to downtown Minneapolis from County 42 in Burnsville. The slowest traffic is between Burnsville Pkwy. and the Minnesota River.

Southbound 35W is back to full strength at Lyndale Avenue. A stall has been cleared but a tow is still on the scene.  Things are still tight from 95th Avenue to 694 in the north metro.

Hwy. 61 and I94 in the east metro are looking good, with only 10 minutes needed from 494 to downtown St. Paul on both roads.
