Wednesday brought out the sun and a few slow downs for commuters using eastbound routes, but there was nothing to complain about as no major delays developed.

A brief tie up occurred around 7 a.m. on southbound 35E in Vadnais Heights. A vehicle went off the road and landed in the center median. The left lane was closed while crews rescued the wayward motorist, and that caused traffic to bunch up from County Road J past the scene.

Commuters on westbound 94 had a minor hiccup around 6:30 a.m. when a stalled vehicle and crash had traffic sluggish between McKnight Road and downtown St. Paul. That cleared up by 7 a.m. and things flowed smoothly the rest of the morning.

West metro drivers cruised along as did those in the south once drivers got through the maddening road work on I-35 in Lakeville between County 70 and County 50. That project is set to be a distant memory by next week.

At present, look for delays on westbound 394 approaching Plymouth Road where MnDOT is doing drainage repair. The right lane is blocked.

That is it for today. I'll be back Thursday with more live reports of your morning drive to work.
