9 a.m. update: Rush hour wrap up

The mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow in the north and west metro has turned roads treacherous. One of the worst drives is on I-94 between Rogers and Monticello.  Look for a couple spinouts on eastbound 94 near the Albertville exits.  Ahead, a crash in the median on the westbound side has eastbound traffic slowing to take a look.

In Brooklyn Park, a spinout on eastbound Hwy. 610 at Hwy. 169 has a lane blocked. On Hwy. 169, a three-vehicle crash on the ramp from 85th Avenue to 169 has it shut down.

Both directions of 169 and 494 are sluggish through Plymouth and Minnetonka. No crashes, but the icy conditions are bring the speeds down.

A vehicle is in the ditch on northbound 169 just north of Hwy. 610.

You will see the remants of a crash on the ramp to eastbound 94 at Cedar Avenue.

Until the precip arrived, the Monday morning rush was quiet with light levels of traffic. Look for some midday traffic issues in downtown St. Paul ahead of the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade that steps off at noon. Here is the parade route:

Parade travels east to west along 5th Street beginning at Broadway. Parade will wrap around Rice Park turning south on Washington and east on 4th Street.
