Good morning, commuters!

With temperatures below the freezing mark, slippery spots are possible as yesterdays snow melt refreezes. Ramps, bridge decks, side streets and sidewalks are the likely places for that to occur.

MnDOT says roads in the metro are in good conditions, but in places to the northwest of the cities are listed in fair condtion. This includes I-94 from Clearwater to St. Michael. Use caution.

On a sad note, a deep pothole on 394 has claimed the life of a 30-year-old man. Anand Baskaran of East Northport, N.Y. was driving a motorcycle near Wirth Pkwy. when he hit a pothole in the eastbound lanes and was ejected from the bike.

I'll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
