Keeping tabs on Monday's morning commute

Posted by: Tim Harlow Updated: March 10, 2014 - 5:16 AM

Good morning, commuters!

The melt is on as temperatures remained above the freezing mark overnight, leaving mainline roads that are wet, but in good driving conditions with the occasional slick spot.

Side streets and lesser-traveled roads may be in rough condition as snow, slush and those deep ruts that have developed make the drive on the bumpy side.

Currently, we have one incident of note on the system. That's a stalled vehicle in northbound 35E at the Cayuga Bridge in St. Paul.

With that, we know that both directions of 35E between Hwy. 36 and I-94 have reopened after a weekend closure to allow MnDOT to remove two bridges.

I’ll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
