It was another rush hour with few problems for most drivers. Northstar trains ran on time or within a few minutes of schedule and congestion was manageable on most routes.

An early morning crash between a pickup truck and Metro Transit bus tangled traffic on University Avenue in Fridley for about 40 minutes. A MVTA bus experienced an electrical problem on northbound 35W at 46th Street, and that slowed traffic coming up from the Crosstown.

A handful of crashes led to isolated pockets of congestion, mainly on 494 in the area of Concord Street and westbound 394 at Hwy. 100.

At present, the system is free of accidents and incidents. As far as congestion goes, look for pockets of it on southbound 35E from Hwy. 36 to downtown St. Paul and on northbound 35W from Crosstown to downtown Minneapolis.

I'll be back Friday morning with more traffic reports. As always, your questions about traffic and driving issues are welcome. Comment here or send an e-mail to drive@startribune.com. Answers will be posted on my blog and in my weekly Monday column in the Star Tribune.
