Dry roads and lighter levels of traffic spelled a sweet Valentine's Day commute for most drivers. Of course, there were some exceptions.

A wreck on eastbound 694 just before Brooklyn Blvd. snarled traffic through Brooklyn Center for about 45 minutes from 7:15 until about 8 a.m. At times the jam stretched back 3 miles to Boone Avenue. That's all gone and traffic is flowing freely at present.

Another tough spot was in Bloomington where a smash-up around 6:35 a.m. caused a big traffic jam. It occurred at Penn Avenue and at a time traffic stacked up back to 34th Avenue. A recent crash at Hwy. 100 just cleared out. Traffic is moving at the posted speeds at present.

East metro drivers enjoyed the lack of traffic on westbound 94. Even the normal slow down from Mounds Blvd. to downtown St. Paul didn't really develop. Hwy. 52 and 61 also moved with a good pace.

Metro Transit buses and trains ran on time.
