Good morning, commuters!

It's the kind of day when you'll want to be sure that your windshield washer fluid is topped off. You will need it as mainline roads and busy secondary roads are mainly wet courtesy of the late night and early morning snow fall.

Be careful for scattered slick spots and temperatures are well below freezing. We have had a few crashes already this morning.

One tough area is the westbound stretch of 494 from Pilot Knob Road to the Mall of America.

A vehicle spun off the road and landed in the right ditch at 34th Avenue. Earlier we had a crash on the Minnesota River bridge. That just cleared.

Roads are in fair condition, so keep the speeds down.

I will be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
