7:30 a.m. update: Winds picking up

Winds are picking up in the Twin Cities as the advertised cold front begins to push through the area. That means our wet roads are at risk of freezing so be ready for changing conditions.

Currently we have a jackknifed semitrailer truck on northbound Hwy. 52 at 117th Street in Inver Grove Heights. There are big delays developing.

In Bloomington, westbound 494 is sluggish from Hwy. 5 over to Cedar Avenue. That's due to a crash near Portland Avenue on the right shoulder.

It's quite busy on westbound Hwy. 36 through Maplewood. It's 25 minutes from Hwy. 61 to 35W.

In the far south metro, there is word of a power pole on fire at Hwy. 13 and 19 near New Prague. Beware of lots of activity in that area.
