The rush hour has been brutal for commuters as black ice has made highways, freeways, intersections, ramps and bridge treacherous.

While a wreck on westbound 94 at Riverside Avenue has cleared, a new round of crashes and rollovers are tangling traffic. The latest is on southbound Hwy. 280 at University Avenue.

In St. Paul, a rollover is blocking the ramp from southbound 35E to westbound 94. This is at least the fifth rollover of the morning in the metro. Now we can make it six as a new rollover has just occurred on the ramp from Hwy. 252 to southbound Hwy. 100 in Brooklyn Center.

The ramp from Hwy. 88 to northbound 35W remains closed as the State Patrol works to pull two cars that went through the guard rail out of the ditch.

In northeast Minneapolis, two separate accidents on southbound 35W are slowing traffic near Johnson Street. Plan on 10 minutes from Hwy. 36.

Look for traffic to bunch up on eastbound Crosstown approaching Hwy. 55 and Hwy. 5. A crash is taking out the right lane.

Finally, a fresh wreck on eastbound 694 has traffic stacked up at Lexington Avenue in Arden Hills.
