SouthWest Transit adds holiday service to megamall

Holiday shoppers who don't want to fight traffic can hop on SouthWest Transit. The agency is running "The Shopping Bus" from transit stations in Chaska, Chanhassen and Eden Prairie to the Mall of America on Saturdays through Dec. 28.

Route 683 buses also will pick up passengers at the Eden Prairie Center.

At the Mall of America in Bloomington, trips will arrive and depart from Gate D at the transit station.

Trips to the megamall begin at 8 a.m.at and the last departure is at 5 p.m.  Trips from the Mall of America begin at 9:30 a.m. with the last trip back to the southwest suburbs departing at 6:30 p.m.  Here is a schedule.

One-way fare is $2.25 for adults and 75 cents for seniors 65 and older and ages 6 to 12. Children 5 and younger ride free.  Go-To, Metropass and UPass cards will be accepted.
