9 a.m. update: Rush hour wrap up

Posted by: Tim Harlow Updated: November 12, 2013 - 8:59 AM

Compared to Monday, the Tuesday rush was a tame one as roads were in good winter driving condition.

The biggest scare on the roads came just before 8 a.m. when a motorist rolled his vehicle on Hwy. 10 between 7th Avenue in Anoka and Round Lake Blvd.

Troopers shut down Hwy. 10 for about 5 minutes, and that caused eastbound traffic to clog up starting at Greenhaven Road.

Stalled vehicles were the main order of the day, as tow trucks responded to dozens that were reported. An early stall on southbound 494 at 49th Avenue caused delays in the 6 a.m. hour. Others brought on minor gawker slowdowns.

At this hour, we have a crash on northbound 35W at the downtown exits. That has things running slow from 42nd Street to downtown Minneapolis. There also is a disabled tanker truck on the crash pad at 42nd Street.

The other slow spot is on westbound 494 from Hwy. 5 to Hwy. 100.
