Authorities have opened one lane on northbound I-35 at County Road 50. The left lane is open while responders work to clear the crash that has been moved to the right lane and shoulder.
Expect major delays for a while. The backup extends well beyond County Road 2, the Elko exit.
County 46 also is jammed, so that's not a good alternate. Also it looks like a secondary crash on the bottom of the ramp from County 60 to northbound I-35.
In a dangerous move, motorists are making U-turns and going up the on ramp to get off I-35. Can you say accident waiting to happen.
