Travelers now have another reason to book a flight out of Terminal 2 at MSP Airport. A new Surdyk's Flights outlet opened last week.

The 55-seat, full-service restaurant, bar and wine market joins a growing number of places to eat and drink before hopping a flight. With its opening, Terminal 2, or the Humphrey Terminal for those who still call it that, Surdyk's joins Cocina del Barrio, Caribou Coffee, Subway and Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine News & Gifts in the expanded area of the terminal off 34th Avenue.

All have opened in the past year.

"The new Surdyk's Flights location further advances our efforts to feature Minnesota brands at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport," said Jeff Hamiel, executive director of the Metropolitan Airports Commission, which owns and operates the airport. "The Terminal 1 Surdyk's has become a traveler favorite, and we expect the second location to be just as popular."

Surdyk's Flights opened its first shop at MSP in Terminal 1 in 2010. And yes, it's affiliated with the flagship store that has operated on E. Hennepin Avenue since 1934.

Surdyk's will be open at the airport from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., but won't sell alcohol on Sundays since Minnesota law does not permit that.
